It seems like every so often there is an animal that begins making appearances in homes nationwide. During the holidays its typically a reindeer, however other animals seem to become popular and trendy from cats in the 50’s, then progressing through chickens, cows, elephants, owls, whales, dolphins, otters, and so on. During the Craft Faire it seemed like squids and octopus’ were the current trend in animal, however walking through the Fillmore on Sunday I came across an happy new beast that seemed to keep popping up….the hippo.

At Nest, there were stuffed hippo bookends made from leather and suit material as well as plenty of hippo artwork.

Then there were pillows..

Hippos were everywhere, and as cute as they are…I could help but fall in love with this lamp. I wish I had a need for it, and a wallet to support it.
