I find a lot of inspiration in the work that Andrea at Wild Chairy does. With my current interest in upholstery, I admire the way she thinks. One of my graphic design professors in college told me that I was “trying to break rules before I knew what the rules were.” [Maybe I should have cracked a book every once in a while]. I feel like I am learning the rules of upholstery through the way Andrea breaks them. Case in point, the chair she recently posted on her Facebook. Painting the outside back in chalkboard paint? Brilliant! To stamp a spot on my heart, the front is upholstered in grey wool plaid.
