Nothing serious here, just documenting things I've made and the work that inspires it

I found two of these worn antique victorian chairs at the world famous Rosebowl Flea Market last year and finally got around to refinishing them over the last few weekends.

Stripped down to the frame then painted in a light gray chalk paint, these chairs were reupholstered in striped gray and white Mexican blankets. As a special twist, I used frayed blanket to trim the front legs. I think they’re cute!

Below are “before” and various “after” photos

  1. I love them! You took something dated and stuffy and made them super hip. A Mexican blanket? Who would have thunk it?

    1. Remember how gross those original chairs were? The foam inside was like hard dust that got everywhere.
